The second full trailer for the upcoming biographical musical drama, The Greatest Showman, has finally arrived. Following the real-life story of showman P. T. Barnum, who founded the circus that became the famous traveling Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the film has already been drawing award season consideration especially for its grand-looking sets, intricate performance and a soundtrack from the same people behind last year’s Academy darling, La La Land.
It’s been four months since we saw the first trailer for The Greatest Showman, which teased what the film has to offer and many were pleasantly surprised with the contemporary-sounding music that works well with the period film. The use of modern tunes, apparently, is a conscious decision made by Jackman (who also serves as executive producer) and other key personalities behind the project. Now, we get to see a bit more of the musical biopic with the debut of its second trailer.
The second trailer for The Greatest Showman, released by 20th Century Fox, can be viewed above. The project boasts a stellar cast led by Hugh Jackman, who plays the eccentric Barnum alongside Michelle Williams asP.T.’s wife Charity Barnum, Rebecca Ferguson as Jenny Lind, Zac Efron as Phillip Carlyle, and Zendaya as Anne Wheeler, helping its cause to draw critical – and casual moviegoers’ – attention. Pulling the ropes behind the camera, on the other hand, is upcoming Australian filmmaker Michael Gracey while the script is co-written by Michael Arndt, Jenny Bicks, and Bill Condon.
